After graduating from Pacific University in 2008, I taught first grade in the Rocky Mountains of Montana until the cold and snow chased us south. I taught 5th and 6th grades in the town of Powers for several years and then a charter school in Portland, Oregon for a year. But I missed the small-town feel and the beautiful coast and so, when a wonderful opportunity to teach kinders at Riley Creek presented itself, I didn't hesitate to move to Gold Beach.
I am a mother of twins, Tim and Caleb. They turned 18 years old August 2019 and started their first term at South-Western Oregon Community College that fall. Tim is studying criminal justice, focusing on criminal psychology and intends to become a police officer. Caleb is studying medicine focusing on radiology and MRI technology.
I am a huge supporter of the arts and look for opportunities to incorporate art in learning. I love to paint, sculpt, and blow glass. I love music, and can play several instruments though not very well ;) I also love to dance, kayak, hike and camp. I am an avid reader and love to write. I have written several fiction novels though none have been published (yet).
